Wayne Rooney has been filming for his new TV show, Rooney has travelled the country to find a new footie star and he has spoken exclusivly to The Sun.
Here is the interview:
“It’s very exciting to be part of something like this — helping find good, young players.
“It’s amazing to see how talented the kids out there actually are.
“But it’s horrible when I have to tell someone they’ve not made it to the next round.
“Just seeing the disappointment on their face is awful.
“They have a good idea themselves if they’ve not done too well.
“But it’s really difficult to actually tell them. I’ve never done anything like that before.
“When they’re walking over, I know if I’m going to put them through or not.
“Then you’re just trying to comfort them, trying to soften the blow a bit — but it’s very hard.
“You can see the disappointment in their faces when you tell them the bad news.
“It’s probably one of the worst things I’ve ever had to do.
“Then of course you get the ones who are really nervous while they wait for your decision — and the joy they get from it is brilliant.
“It’s a judging thing, with kids leaving the competition throughout.
“In that way I suppose it is like an X Factor-style show but we’re after footballers here, trying to find the latest young talent.”
“When I was a kid we’d be shooting against a wall, aiming at road signs, with jackets down for goals, stuff like that.
“It was great for things like accuracy and helping control because on different surfaces you obviously get weird bounces.
“If you’re playing on a road it’s much more difficult to get your touch right.
“So when you come to a proper game, it seems easier to play.
“I’m not saying I wouldn’t have been a professional if I hadn’t played street football — but it certainly helped me and I get benefits from it even now.
“Hopefully the lads and girls who don’t make it will be back next year to show what they can do because it’s all about how you react to disappointments.”
Rooney admitted: “After that game (FA Cup against Portsmouth), the dressing room was a horrible place to be. No words were said and club-wise it’s the worst I’ve ever been in.
“We realised that, with the other teams who were left in the competition, we would have had a great chance to win the FA Cup. It was really disappointing.
“The important thing was to keep that feeling at the back of your mind and make sure we went on to win the Premier League and Champions League.
“But there’s no doubt it was a major disappointment.”
“Since I came to United they’ve always been the team everyone wants to beat, so we’re all used to that. And winning the Double was a great achievement — but we’re not satisfied with that.
“It’s something we all spoke about when we came back in pre-season — we want more trophies.
“We don’t want to be known as a team which won the Double and that was it. We want to make history.
“Hopefully in the next few years we will, too. I think we can do great things because we’ve got experienced players and young lads who can only get better.
“Hopefully we will all keep learning, keep playing well and keep winning trophies.
“In five or six years I hope people are saying what a great team we became.”

Ron Blows 150k on ................... a numberplate
Sunday, 24 August 2008
Manchester United's "slave" Cristiano Ronaldo has apparently spent 150,000 GPB on a car numberplate.
The numberplate says - CR7. In other words, his name and his Manchester United number.
I have no problems with personalised number plates but that is ridicoulas amount of money to spend on a numberplate.
A source said: “Cristiano is developing an obsession with CR7. It has to be on everything he owns – cars included.
“He has been after the number plate for ages and finally got his hands on it.”
That has got to be good news for United fans because if he is getting obsessed with CR7 then it might mean that he will be staying at Old Trafford for longer than a season.

Rooney, Face Of Mercedes?
Wednesday, 20 August 2008
Wayne Rooney has been made the face of Mercedes, Mercedes are known for their, how can I put it? upmarket customers. To put it bluntly- Rooney is known as a chav, I love the player but if I am honest, I am not sure if this is the best move for Mercedes.
The car manufacturer has decided to sign a £1million contract which has made Wayne Rooney its new ambassador.
Rooney has already taken delivery of one of their cars- a brand new customised Mercedes Benz CL63 Coupe which is worth around £121,200.
A source said: ‘Wayne is chuffed to bits with his new car. He is a car lover and has a beautiful collection of cars. Now Coleen will have to drive them, or he’ll have to make do with driving them off-road as he is only allowed to drive Mercedes to most events.
‘Wayne’s a big fan of Mercedes and he bought Coleen an SLK 280 for her birthday two years ago.’
A source at Mercedes said: ‘We very much wanted Wayne to be the face of the brand. Mercedes will set Wayne up as an icon with their cars. There is an option in the contract for him to feature in some adverts.’

Rio Names Child Tate
Friday, 15 August 2008
Last week Rio Ferdinand's wife gave birth to his second child, who weighed 7lbs 6oz.
Rio named his first child Lorenz and now he has named his second child Tate.
Does anything sound familiar? Well If you know who the man photographed underneath is, then you should have really figured it out.
It didn't make sense to me but Lorenz Tate was the name of the actor who played a womaniser called Frankie Lymon in the movie Why Do Fools Fall In Love?
Rio tells the mirror:
"We're absolutely delighted to be parents again.
"Becky and I love the name Lorenz Tate and couldn't decide which one to go for. But now we have another child, we've got both the names."
Congratulations to them both

Which United Player Is The Odd One Out?
Wednesday, 13 August 2008
When United players returned to training at Carrington, all of them apart from one had brand new cars, but who was the odd one out?
The have been rumours that Cristiano had bought a £340,000 Rolls Royce phantom to celebrate his decision to stay at United but he was the only first team player not to show up in a brand new car.
Now, I no nothing about cars but I will tell you what they were driving anyway.
Ronaldo was driving a silver Bentley (pictured above), Ferdinand was driving a Silver Mercedes CLK DTM AMG, Rooney was in a black BMW X5.
Club captain Gary Neville was driving an Audi Q7, Scholes and Hargreaves turned up in Audi S8s, Tevez was in a white Bentley Continental GT, Wes Brown was in an exclusive model Porsche.
An on-looker said: "Everyone had been going on that Ronaldo had a new car but he was the only one not to have traded his in.
"He was the odd one out."
Personally I don't see what the big deal is, he is a slave after all.
Ronaldo's Latest Lover
What a surprise, my first post on this blog will be about Cristiano Ronaldo.
It seems like Ronaldo can't get out of the headlines, the latest is that his newest lover wants to join the mile high club with him.
His latest bit is a 30 year old model called Letizia Filippi and this is what she had to say:
“We have exchanged dozens of hot messages.
“My dream would be to get on a private plane, just the two of us, and do it at high altitude.
“It would be so romantic.”
You can see a picture of her here and personally I cannot understand why she is a model.
I give it a month or two and then Ronaldo will be onto the next girl
