Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen had to be rescued from a motorway when Rooney filled up the car with the wrong petrol, this mistake could cost him around six thousand pounds.
Manchester United striker Rooney was driving Coleen's supercharged Range Rover Sport V8 when they stopped off to fill it up, Wayne forgot that the car took diesel and he filled it up with unleaded.
The £90,000 car stopped within minutes and it had to be towed away.
A Range Rover engineer said: “Putting petrol in a highly-tuned diesel engine can be catastrophic. It can cause extensive damage and the engine can seize up.”
A motorist said: “The hazard lights were flashing on the car and Wayne was standing talking to a Highways Agency patrol driver. He looked pretty sheepish.”
Many people say that footballers only play football because they dont have any brains and this isn't helping the situation.
